ABOUT ME
THANK-YOU for your interest in my work!
Like responding to a favorite childhood item of clothing, I begin with an emotional response to fabric. That response helps me select which fabric to use. I treat each new piece of work as a problem in need of a solution. I keep design elements simple, and the emotional response to the process always stays in the front of my mind. Quilts are not completed until they are hand-quilted; hand quilting allows me to connect to the piece and bring it to its natural conclusion. My quilts are not for beds; they are made to hang on the wall.
The byproduct of my work is a collection of scraps that can at times boggle the imagination. To keep my scrap collection under control, I make what I call “Fancy Pouches.” These pouches are small, whimsical expressions. They allow me to play with different color combinations. I also have a lot of fun making coordinating buttons for each pouch out of Sculpey clay.
